Waste Reduction for a “Cause” (at your next meeting):

The trend the last few years has been to "green" our meetings and events and think of ways to save the environment one biodegradable cup at a time. Well here is a great way to reduce waste & hunger at the same time. It’s as easy as “wrapping it up”.

- S
tart by developing a contract clause with the venue and/or caterer that requires them to donate the extra food to a local food bank;
- A
ny food that is prepared and not served from meetings typically goes into landfills, however it can go to feed the hungry;
- D
evelop a partnership with a local service organization to come & pick up the leftovers;
-
During the meeting or conference offer delegates the option of working for a few hours at a local soup kitchen or food bank…this not only gives back to the community but offers the company a chance for corporate social responsibility thereby increasing the physical and economic health of all people.

Celebrate Valentines Day with the Perfect Chocolate Fondue

A warm and decadent chocolate "dip" for bite-sized pieces of fruit, pound cake, biscotti OR your partner's finger.

- 16oz. good quality chocolate (chopped coarsely)
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1tbsp. butter

Combine cream, vanilla and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until just boiling. Remove from heat.
Add chocolate pieces to hot cream mixture and stir until melted and smooth.
Pour into fondue pot and server warm with desired accompaniments.

Enjoy and have fun! ;-)
